What a big Tuesday for our #Imanpa students. After literacy and numeracy we got to work with the CAAMA Radio crew on developing student speaking skills two ways in Pitjantjatjara and English. We even recorded the students singing ‘Kaanka’ (The Crow) song.
In the afternoon, we combined classes for Science lesson and introduced students to the Pitjantjatjara words for the five seasons of central Australia. We also brainstormed up a list of environmental and cultural correspondences to the Seasons.

#Imanpa Senior class, students practised place value on a Place Value Chart. They rolled a dice to add to their numbers, breaking their unifix cubes into tens as the numbers grew.
In English, students attempted to write compound sentences using the word 'and '.

Our #Yulara #Mutitjulu students identified their favourite bush foods - with some choosing malu or maku.
We identified the names of each food and learned how to spell them in Pitjantjatjara and English. We then described their taste, comparing them to other foods, what tools are used to catch them and cook them. Students used this information to make a poster.
This information will now be used to prepare content for @caama.radio and TikTok, and to plan out a menu for some bush food cooking later in term.
