The College is developing a behaviour management approach aligned with evidence-based practices used across Australia. This approach is structured around choice and consequence, with the aim of responding respectfully to both positive and negative behaviour.
Anangu support staff in classrooms and in community provide invaluable assistance to teachers, helping to diffuse incidents, respond to teasing, and recognise and reinforce positive behaviour. Good behaviour is supported through visible charts, verbal encouragement, daily incentives, excursions and celebrations of student success.
The weekly Rikina Award, along with daily sharing of student success through Teams, Facebook and the College website, are examples of how the College works to build confidence, self-regulation and positive learning conditions.
